Petition For The Establishment Of a Subscription Based Garbage Collection Route
We need your help, because together Caye Caulker can do anything. Caye Caulker has a trash problem, it’s in our mangroves, our properties, our streets and our coasts. We believe that this does not have to be the case. BTB’s generous donation of a garbage truck presents an opportunity to implement a system of collection that can sustain itself and provide a valuable service to households and businesses in the community. If there ever was a perfect moment to create a system of collection that can help keep the island clean while also invest in itself, this is it. While BTB’s original intention was for us to use this as a way to move waste from public bins, we think that this truck is so wonderful it can perhaps even do a bit more. It is for this reason that we would like public to support our efforts to establish a community garbage subscription service. Let us establish an island wide collection system for both north & sides of Caye Caulker. With a paid subscription service we can generate funds to:
Hire a Full Time Driver
Buy Fuel
Purchase specialised bins
Truck Repairs and Maintenance
Expand with More Trucks
With a system like this, we can offer better options to families and businesses who struggle to find reliable garbage removal services. If we make trash pick up as easy as possible then the likelihood of any of it ending up somewhere else is reduced. Caye Caulker deserves cleaner streets, we deserve plastic free coastlines, and we deserve a system that makes this entire ordeal easier. Stop by our office to sign our petition.
