1. Fill out the Application form:

• Name of Applicant: John Doe T/A “Name of Business”

• Address: Where the applicant lives

• Nature of Trade/Economic Classification: Refer to the list of 20 business classification

• Zone: Not applicable to villages 

• Address at which Trade is carried: Where the business is located

• Productive Footprint: Refer to Classification guidelines - seek assistance at the Village Council if there is uncertainty

2. Gather required documents such as:

• Copy of Social Security OR Passport 

• Business Name Registration 

• Approval from Fire Department

• Health Premise Certificate 

• Food Handlers Certificate 

• Department of Environment 

• Any other relevant documents (BTB, Ministry of Education etc.)

3. Submit the completed form and required documents to the Caye Caulker Village Council in person or via email at tradelicense@cayecaulkervillagecouncil.org

4.  Pay Application Fee of $10.00 at the Village Council office or direct deposit online to Atlantic Bank account number 100073949. For payments via direct deposit, a copy of the payment receipt must be submitted along with the Application form.

5. The Trade License Board will meet to review applications if the applicant is not eligible for automatic approval.

6. If approved, an approval letter and fee assessment for final payment will be issued to the Applicant.

7. Make payment to the Caye Caulker Village Council office or online through Atlantic Bank transfer at account number: 100073949 within 30 days of assessment. Failure to do so will result in a 10% interest charge for late payments for each month. Copy of online payment receipt must be provided to the Caye Caulker Village Council Office.

8.  A Trade License Certificate will be prepared for the Applicant.

9.  Applicants will be notified when to pick up the Certificate at the Village Council office.

10.  Applicants are to display the Certificate prominently at the business premise.
